Air Purification
Everyone should be able to breathe easy in their own home. Unfortunately, this isn’t always the case. The humidity level, pet dander, cleaning chemicals, and other irritants can all contribute to low air quality in the home.
At J&J Heating and Air Conditioning Inc., we’re experts when it comes to finding the right air quality solution for your home. With over 50 years of experience, we have the knowledge needed to ensure the air in your home is safe and, just as importantly, comfortable to breathe.
Air Quality Services
We offer a number of different options for air quality control in your home. Deciding the right option for you will depend on the specific air quality issue you are dealing with, the size of your space, and the type of any existing HVAC system. Air quality equipment we offer includes:
IWave Air Ionization Systems
You can think of the IWave as a whole-house air purifier. It uses bipolar ionization technology to improve indoor air quality by reducing certain bacteria, viruses, and allergens. The IWave comes in 3 models, each suited to a specific HVAC system
IWave-M
Designed for mini-split systems, the IWave-M is compact and self-cleaning. It effectively reduces airborne particles, odors, and pathogens in air moving through smaller, ductless HVAC units.
IWave-R
Designed for residential HVAC systems the IWave-R is a self-cleaning ionizer. It installs easily in most air handlers to help neutralize allergens, bacteria, and viruses throughout your home.
IWave-C
Designed for commercial applications, the IWave-C is ideal for rooftop units and large duct systems. It utilizes powerful ionization for improved air quality in offices, retail spaces, and other commercial environments.
Humidification
Dry air in the home can cause dry skin, irritated eyes, throat and nosebleeds, as well as damage to wooden furniture and floors. This is where humidification comes in, increasing the amount of water in the air.
We will help identify the correct product to help to maintain balanced humidity in residential spaces. It automatically adjusts humidity levels based on indoor and outdoor conditions, helping to prevent dry air issues like static electricity, dry skin, and respiratory discomfort.
Dehumidification
When the humidity in your home is too high, it can cause health problems such as respiratory issues and worsened allergies. Additionally, it can cause the formation of mold and mildew, as well as create an inviting environment for pests. Dehumidifiers lower the moisture level to alleviate these issues.
We have a number of different dehumidifier options. We will help you determine which is right for you. These units are efficient, quiet, and ideal for basements, crawl spaces, and whole-home applications, reducing excess humidity to prevent mold growth and protect your home’s structural integrity and air quality.
Air Cleaners & Filters
Whole-House Air Purifiers capture airborne viruses and reduce the amount of respiratory irritants in the home, as well as reduce the presence of odors from pets, cooking, and smoke. They also serve to lengthen your HVAC system’s life and improve your home’s energy efficiency by reducing dust buildup.
We install Aprilaire air cleaners and filters of various models, including:
Whole House Electronic Air Cleaners
A high-efficiency air purification system that combines electrostatic technology with a traditional filter to remove up to 98% of airborne particles, including dust, pollen, and smoke. It provides whole-home purification and works seamlessly with most central HVAC systems.
Whole House Media Air Cleaners
A reliable, low-maintenance solution using a high-efficiency MERV 16 filter to trap common household contaminants such as dust, mold spores, and pet dander.
UV Lights
HVAC UV lights use UV-C light, a specific wavelength that disrupts the DNA and RNA of microorganisms such as bacteria, mold, and viruses. These lights are installed inside air handlers, ductwork, or near the evaporator coil in order to sterilize the mentioned contaminants, preventing them from multiplying and spreading through the air.
There are two types of HVAC UV light installations we will help you choose from. These are:
Coil Sanitizing Lights
Installed near the evaporator coil to prevent mold and biofilm buildup.
Air Sanitizing Lights
Installed in the return or supply ducts to disinfect the moving air before it circulates through the home or building.
Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV)
An ERV is a system that continuously replaces stale indoor air with fresh outdoor air while recovering both heat and moisture. The incoming fresh air is pre-conditioned to a temperature closer to the indoor air, which improves indoor air quality and comfort while reducing the load on your heating and cooling systems.
We will help you choose the right unit for your needs. The unit will comply with the latest green building codes and standards. Additionally, it is extremely quiet and takes up minimal space, making it easy to install in any home.
Heat Recovery Ventilator
HRVs are extremely similar to ERVs, but only transfer heat, not moisture, between incoming and outgoing air. This can make them the better options in homes where maintaining indoor humidity is not a concern.
We will help you choose the right unit for your needs. The unit will comply with the latest green building codes and standards. Additionally, it is extremely quiet and takes up minimal space, making it easy to install in any home.
Our experienced Comfort Consultants will help you decide which solution is right for your home based on your air quality needs and existing HVAC system.
